PROGRAMSDon’t Miss this Rare Opportunity“As our working environment becomes more dynamic and diverse, it will be incumbent upon us to ensure we are working at optimum levels to produce desired outcomes and enhance our organization’s ability to remain competitive in the market. Our local businesses and those corporations who make the Triangle their home require diligence in their workforce leadership to growing profits and people in order to stimulate our economy. This symposium will provide participants from around the Triangle with an opportunity to take part in this experiential, highly participatory and hands on training which focuses on developing state of the art leadership skills in real time…the skills that can make the difference between remaining in the status quo conundrum or exceeding professional and personal expectations in developing self and others in the workplace. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to practice and build skills as you participate.”

Mountain in My Rearview MirrorAs we assess today’s world circumstances, its tragedies and obstacles – we cannot help but acknowledge how overwhelming it all is at times. When looking at the economical and social challenges that beset us right here in Southeast Raleigh which include issues of access to quality education for our children and ourselves, finding employment and creative entrepreneurial opportunities during this financial downtown, quality and affordable housing, finding affordable ways and resources which will enable us to eat healthy and become fit, making sure our neighborhoods are clean and safe, learning how to manage and build on the financial resources we currently have (no matter how small), finding ways for re-entry strategies to become successful, and ensuring our voices are heard when enhancements and changes are made to city infrastructures as a result of growth — we may want to say “stop the world, I want to get off”. However, all of these seemingly impenetrable challenges can be overcome…”How” you might ask. “One at a time” would be my response. Working with likeminded advocates, business people, government leaders (city, county and state), other non-profits as well as invested community members who believe that change can occur when the community invests in itself. When we address each of these challenges with calm, clarity, deliberation, determination and commitment together, we ensure that the outcomes are positive.
The Hall of Fame football coach of the Green Bay Packers once said, “Once a man has made a commitment to a way of life, he puts the greatest strength in the world behind him. It’s something we call heart power. Once a man has made this commitment, nothing will stop him short of success.” SERA, Inc. is working within Southeast Raleigh communities to build community capacity and enhance the quality of life for southeast Raleigh residents and the business partners who support the communities we serve. Working together each obstacle can become a mountain in our rear view mirror! Rita Anita Linger, MA President/CEO SERA, Inc. |
